Trivia[]

  • This episode aired after the release of the fourth movie.
  • First Appearance of Shingo and his grandfather.
  • This is the latest manga story to be adapted in the TV series, as that show ended a month later but continued in the form of OVAs.
    • The manga then officially ended in 1987, and the last chapter along with 10 others that came before it were adapted on the 1988 film Urusei Yatsura: The Final Chapter.

Differences from the manga[]

Since this is a four-chapter adaption, there isn't much filler. However, since the episode is 22 minutes long as what most UY episodes are, some scenes have not been adapted:

  • Rather than cutting short his date with the girl who accepted, Ataru makes Kōsuke sit in his place with the girl who was taking long in deciding what she wants to order and goes see Lum after making her wait for nearly an hour.
  • Shingo introduces Lum to "his grandfather" after bolting Ataru for calling her an idiot, and precludes her to leave to which she eventually agrees and she sleeps on a hamac.
  • Mendō, Ataru, Shinobu and Kōsuke (instead of Megane) meet Shingo's Grandfather after Ataru asks Mendō if he has insulating suits, in his home where he reveals the incident 10 years ago, then his TV set shows Lum and Shingo performing a scene in which Shingo chases after her, which prompts everyone to suit up and go back to the locker.
  • Rather than becoming fond of Shinobu, Shingo is taken to his real grandfather but he mistakes his grandfather's TV set for his grandfather while his grandfather mistakes Mendō for his grandson again.
