Differences from the Manga[]
In the manga:
- Tsubame is actually called to a house to exorcise the spirited young girl that has decided that a young, still-living boy is her new boyfriend. He convinces the ghost girl to leave the boy and come with him then heads off to meet Sakura for their date and actually does show up after Ataru fools Sakura twice, but with the spirited girl clinging to his neck and refusing to leave much to Sakura's surprise.
- Tsubame explains that the exorcism didn't go so well in a cafe, where Ataru first clings to Sakura's neck like the spirited girl does with Tsubame only to get hit by Sakura then imitates Tsubame's voice saying he wants to break up with her. Sakura summons the spirit of a kabuki actor in hopes that the girl will go with him, but the girl is frightened and Tsubame banishes the kabuki ghost in order to calm, which drives Sakura fly off the handle and leave with Lum following closely behind, although she actually intends to dress in miko to perform a better summoning of a good guy for the girl.
- As Sakura dresses in miko, her mother reports they have a customer who turns out to be the same boy Tsubame exorcised in the morning having the ghost of a boy behind him this time. And at the suggestion of Lum, Sakura decides to use that spirited boy for the spirited girl, but the spirited boy leaves saying he already has a girlfriend, which ironically makes the exorcism a success.
- As the spirited boy leaves the temple and reaches the stairs where Tsubame sits with the spirited girl and Ataru, both ghosts recognize each other and are glad to meet again. It ends however with the spirited girl clinging to Sakura's head and the spirited boy clinging to Tsubame's head enjoying tea at the cafe.
- Both ghosts call each other by their last names and the spirited girl is not angry at the spirited boy.
- Ten and Mendō do not appear.
