- This is the fourteenth anime exclusive episode.
- A coffee stand can be seen called "Yatura Urusei".
- The insert song Jidai Okure no Sakaba from the second movie can be heard when the Bar Tender finds the Kitten.
- This episode ends with Benten telling Ryūnosuke Fujinami that she knew that Ryūnosuke was a girl all along. This is in stark contrast to their canonical first encounter in Chapter 269 of the manga, where Benten didn't realize Ryūnosuke's gender until she bumped into her at a local bathhouse.
- Because Episode 160 is a faithful adaptation of the manga's interpretation of the first meeting between Benten and Ryūnosuke, it seems to ignore the events of this episode.
