Ataru contracts an alien disease from Ten that makes a boy’s eyes shiny and sparkly like that of a girl’s and spreads the virus to the male population while trying to do his usual girl-hunting in vain.

Differences from the Manga[]
The plot is essentially the same with numerous anime original scenes including Ryūnosuke trying to get Ataru's disease and numerous characters getting affected. In the manga:
- Lum's needle is of a regular size, and Lum doesn't go through any trouble to inject a crying Ten and Ataru.
- Lum starts chasing Ataru with her glue gun right after Mendō is affected and Ataru quickly thinks of heading to Sakura's house.
- Only Kotatsu-Neko, Mendō, Cherry, Onsen-Mark, the Principal and Mr. Fujinami get affected.
