Mendō's Grandfather (面堂じいちゃん, Mendou jīchan?), also called "Mr. A", is Shūtarō Mendō's elderly forefather and the clan elder of the Mendō Zaibatsu.
Personality[]
Like most of the Mendō clan, Mendō's grandfather is rather eccentric, forgetful and is prone to exaggeration and emotional outbursts, even treating the most mundane things dramatically. However unlike most of the Mendō household, he has a very positive relationship with his grandson Shūtarō and dotes on the boy when possible, even crying and fearing for his grandson's safety over simple matters, and Shūtarō in turn cares for his grandfather but will nonchalantly cause him physical harm for no apparent reason or even curse him behind his back for his incredible senility.
Appearance[]
Mendō's Grandfather's true face is never seen as he always conceals it behind a red octopus mask, a sign of his great admiration for octopi due to the adorable cephalopods being the family symbol of the Mendō clan and the mask itself being the family's most treasured heirloom. What little is seen of his head is that it is of a clearly elderly man with a balding head. His face has only been seen once where it was that of a very elderly and homely bald man with large eyebrows and a larger mustache, so homely in fact that its no wonder he wears a mask.
Abilities[]
Being the eldest member of the Mendō Clan, he has access to all of his family's endless resources and vast wealth.
Trivia[]
- His seiyu also voiced Shingo's Grandfather, Lum's Great-Grandfather and Upa.
