Mendo Octopi 111

Mendō's Octopi

The Mendō Family Octopi are the slimy yet adorable animal companions of Shūtarō Mendō. Mendō owns a large assortment of octopi which serve as both his pets and as the official mascots of the Mendō Zaibatsu, with octopi having served as the Mendo family symbol since ancient times as symbols of fortune.

Mendō cares deeply for his little cephalopods and has given each one a unique name, even treating them like dogs by taking them on walks, playing with them and even watching movies with them (somehow needing little water). The notable exceptions to this are Matsu-Chiyo and Akamaru whose unique natures and odd abilities force the Mendō clan to keep a careful eye on them.
