Hi there. Yes, there are people who write articles here but they're all busy at the moment. Please feel free to write articles here :) I see you've already started, so if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to ask me.
Hello, Ryoga-kun, it's been awhile! Just now I saw the redesigned character infobox, I think it's better than before, and I really love that infobox! >_< (falls in love) I should give you my gratitude for making such great job!
You didn't have to Sango-chan. It's my duty as an admin to maintain the wiki ;) What do you think of the redesign? Check out the Monobook version too: . How's it going? Life outside internet, I mean.
Wow, they really look so cute and comfortable. <3 _ <3 You must have been put a lot of effort on this wiki! I'm fine for now, but recently I'm having troubles on the internet, it's getting slow nowadays, and I can't do my assignment properly. :( How about you? And yeah, I forget to wish you "Happy Diwali", Happy Diwali! >< Sorry for the late wishing.
Not actually. Some kind people helped me :D Slow internet? I understand what you mean. It's very tiring when we can't do anything properly. My life's pretty normal. I have two more exams coming up, one on 8th and the last on 15th. After that it's 'next semester, here I come' lol! Thank you for the Diwali wish :) Same to you too. We couldn't light lamps outside our house because it was raining heavily from the afternoon itself that day :|
Yeah, that slow net is torturing me for a long time... =_= I have a lot of work to do, and I wish I can complete them in the same day. By the way, once again hopefully you can score high marks in your exam, and I thought your exam is over, LOL! I heard my other Indian friends also said the same way about the weather, but did you light up those lamps in your house, LOL? XD
Thanks Sango-chan. I think you're talking about the mock exams. We're now having the third semester main exam. Two more subjects left. Every year we light oil lamps (made of clay), but this year we didn't. It could be attributed to the heavy rain (thunderstorm actually) and blackout. We do light lamps on another occasion called Thrikkarthika, usually in December. The sight of the burning lamps at night is beautiful.
Hi Joe! Well, the bureaucrat of the wiki and I had a discussion few days ago and we decided that since the wiki is about a show from the 1980s, we might as well go for a 1980s look. Like, a 1980s style background (with a bit a noise on the image), fonts, bright colors and shapes.
For the background, any two (or more) images from here would do. Here's another image. As I've noted earlier, would you be able to add a bit of noise and colors like these to it so that it looks like a 1980s poster? Also, any shapes (triangles, squares or the 'star' in the second image. Here's a better one). The font style should be changed, I think. Please choose any font which looks 80s that you like :) We need a new wordmark as well. This is the logo of the series and would you be able to create something like this? Also Joe, in Toriko wiki there's this this pop-up character/chapter links.. Will you be able to implement it here as well? Also the header (behind the wiki navigation). It looks so cool! Sorry for the lengthy reply! You must feel tired after reading through this. I hope I'm not asking for too much. If I am, please do let me know :)
Here's a quick preview of a possible new background using the wiki's current background color. If you like the overall look of the images used, I'll spend more time tomorrow adding decorations, such as that star using different colors and sizes.
Here's a new preview showing an updated background and a new logo. Let me know if you want me to change something on either of them. If you want to use them as they appear there, I'll upload them to the wiki.
Now the pop-ups. Well, when they are in their default, can we use the same star without the tail (or would it look boring?) When we hover over the episodes link, how about this image; for the manga, this one or this one; for characters, either the image 1 I've linked in the beginning or this one; for oddities and media this and this respectively :) Thanks again Joe. Oh, will you be able to change the fonts of the wiki as well?
Do you have a different link for those images? When I click those links, all I see is "Hosted on minitokyo.net".
For the changing image links, I think the star with the word on top of it (Episodes, Manga, wtc.) will work fine. I'll also need you to tell me the page for which these images will link to.
As for changing the wiki's font, if you like the font I used for the "URUSEI YATSURA WIKI" part of the new logo, I'll try to find a Google web font that's similar to it (sans-serif font with rounded corners). When I do, I'll show it to you before making the change on the wiki.
Of course, if you want to use a different font, let me know. Feel free to browse the many fonts at that link above.
That preview looks amazing! You rock Joe! :) Anime would link to List of animated media; Manga to List of published media; Characters to List of Characters; Oddities to List of Oddities; Media to List of music media :) That font looks really good. Once again, thanks for helping us out Joe :)
Thanks once again Joe! Btw, can you suggest a good font from Google that we can use on the wiki? You might've noticed the font we're currently using on the Introduction template (the small caps). It looks very plain to me.
Joe, there's one more thing. I moved some templates around on the main page and redesigned some as well. Now in the Intro template, the last star is sticking out of the template and so are the Poll options. Can you fix them as well? Sorry to bother you again!
Also, the current font.. Well, I was thinking of using that font on the Headers only (like "Welcome to Urusei Yatsura Wiki"). Is it possible to change the font for use in main page headers only? The rest of the contents look better in the default or previous font :">
Sorry, I misunderstood about the font. I changed it back to the previous font and edited the headers to use the new font. I also set the header text to be all caps to look more like the wiki's logo. If you don't want it to be that way, just remove text-transform:uppercase from the style of the headers.
I also edited the Intro template to properly center the stars, and I added a small bit of CSS to center the poll options.
Just now I created 4 marcons of U and O characters, upper form and lower form respectively. Those tools will be used in describing Nihongo readings. And at the same time I made a decision on not changing UY characters' names into this because I didn't want to let the readers get confused between those characters during sarching and rather sticked to AnimEigo version. So what do you think?
