Tsuyuko Amamori (雨森露子, Amamori Tsuyuko?) is a girl who was cursed by a rain spirit called Amefurashi.
Biography[]
Her life is a rather depressing one because of a curse that makes it rain wherever she goes and also causes her footsteps to be wet leaving a trail of water, her to be afraid of teru teru bōzu, and to be gradually dumped by boys who get consistently splashed through various watery incidents while dating her.
She and her family move in front of the Moroboshi residence, much to Ataru’s joy, and becomes a student of Tomobiki High School winding up in Class 2-4. Ataru and Mendō try chatting with her, but she slips away while the 2 argue, and stands in the hallway thinking sadly that the cycle repeats itself. She warns Ataru who insists on getting to know her and date her that he shouldn’t get involved with her, but eventually agrees to a date after he tells her that he can understand her feelings of fear of being rejected since he too has always been rejected and shortly after freaks out by the sight of Cherry carried by Sakura due to resembling a teru teru bōzu and runs away.
On the day of their date, Ataru gets splashed numerous times but much to her surprise he remains interested in her, leading her to wonder if he could save her from the curse and invite him for dinner at her house. However, the dinner is interrupted by Lum and Cherry who on top of frightening her again calls her a demon called Amefurashi, but her father shows up, easing her fear by putting a wig on Cherry and she learns from him that she was in turn cursed by Amefurashi because he unwillingly broke a promise to her when he was a child.
She’d keep receiving the company of Ataru who suffers from an intensified curse, and after a week breaks down in tears begging him not to give up his life for her. Cherry’s suggestion to try finding Amefurashi to break the curse doesn’t alleviate her as she worries that Ataru will die before they could ever manage to locate her, but her worries quickly vanish as Amefurashi happens to pass by and she follows her together with Ataru, Cherry and Lum until her tent which happened to be next to Cherry’s. Much to her amazement, she’d witness her father playing with Amefurashi for a week, which allowed her curse to be broken.
Soon after, she moves again and says goodbye to Ataru, much to his dismay.
