Yochinoya Beef Bowl

Yochinoya Beef Bowl is a chain of fast food gyudon restaurants and stands located across Tomobiki and several other locations, and it may in fact be an interplanetary franchise of alien origin as Yochinoya Beef Bowl restaurants can even be found on Planet Elle. Yochinoya is the primary hangout and favorite fast food place for Class 2-4 of Tomobiki High School, especially Ataru Moroboshi, Lum, Shinobu Miyake and Lum's Stormtroopers. Even Shūtarō Mendō with his opulent wealth will usually eat here as well, although if only to accompany Lum and Shinobu.

The Yochinoya Beef Bowl shops usually appear as proper restaurants with a western interior design and with enough space to accommodate many customers. They also have smaller stands with a more traditional eastern interior design and noren curtains at the entrance.

The most notable features of these restaurants is the large cartoonish caricature of a cow (or just its head) holding two bowls of gyudon while hanging from their signs which is usually either static or swings its head side to side, with the goofy-looking cow representing their mascot.

Yochinoya's slogan is "BIG BEEF" which is sometimes printed on their bowls or on their signs next to the cow head or the Yochinoya name.

Yochinoya is a parody of the real life Yoshinoya chain of fast food restaurants in Japan which also specialize in beef bowls.
In Episode 53, it is revealed that Yochinoya offers 500 yen an hour to new employees.
In the manga, there wasn't a consistent restaurant the characters hanged out at, with the names and locations of the restaurants always changing, with the first restaurant in the manga seen being Sukiyaki Hut, which was subsequently replaced with Yochinoya and would from then on become a mainstay location for the series.
